Each catastrophic event serves as another reminder of the importance of being prepared for the next earthquake with the hopes that it isn’t ‘The Big One’!
What is the Ring of Fire?
The Ring of Fire stretches from New Zealand, northward along the coast of eastern Asia and across the Aleutian Islands of Alaska. From there it heads south along the western coast of North and South America.
Where are the areas of highest risk of being struck by a catastrophic earthquake? The most vulnerable and most risky regions are the United States west coast, Chile, Japan and the Pacific islands.
Leading Earthquake Insurance Coverage
HDA Insurance is one of the top providers of affordable earthquake insurance on the West Coast of the United States; the vertical area of risk running from Washington state, through Oregon state and down through California state to the Mexican border.
Available earthquake insurance options include basic coverage (dwelling only) up through very comprehensive options. Deductible options are available from 2.5% to 25% of coverage limit.
The irony of coverage requests include the most wealthy property owners asking for the highest deductible option with coverage only afforded to rebuild the dwelling; and many of our middle age and more financially weary homeowners interested in making sure that they are covered for much more exposure and usually with smaller deductible options.
